Alice in Wonderland is a fantasy adventure film released this 2010 and directed by Tim Burton, the maker of Charlie and Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd. It was originally written in a book by the famous Lewis Carroll, and written by film by Linda Woolverton. This film was originally set to be released in 2009, however, because of some difficulties that were presented, the plan was pushed back to March 5, 2010. The makers of the film thought that using a combination of live action and animation would be best for the film. This is probably because most scenes of the film include locations that will be greatly appreciated when viewed digitally. Burton also noted that this was the first time he had filmed on a green screen, which actually compromised 90% of the whole movie.
The Characters
The roles were made into reality by some famous and popular movie stars, like, Mia Wasikowska who played the role of Alice Kingley. The Mad Hatter was brought to life by Johnny Depp's extremely versatile acting techniques. Princess Diaries' Anne Hathaway portrayed the role of the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter perfectly carried her role as the Red Queen.
The 2010 Movie
The film starts with Alice having strange, recurring dreams after the loss of her dear father. She then joins a garden party where shockingly, it is also her engagement party at the same time. Alice, caught up in that difficult situation, chased the Rabbit in a waistcoat where she fell into the rabbit hole sending her to Underland. When she was welcomed by the different species, she was interrogated if she is the real "Alice". The real "Alice" is the one foretold to slay the Red Queen's Jabberwocky on the Frabjous Day. Alice eventually faced a string of events that made her closer to the Red Queen which included her joining the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. However, when it was known that she, indeed, is Alice, she was made to face the Jabberwocky and slay it. Victoriously, with the encouraging words she got from her father, she was able to out win the Monster. The White Queen then banished the Red Queen and her followers. Eventually, Alice returns to home with the promise to the Mad Hatter that she will be back soon.
