Are you looking at juicer reviews to help you decided which machine to purchase? Here are 9 things you should pay attention to about juicer reviews before making your decision.
1) Does the website sell juice extractors?If the reviews you're looking at are on a website that sells juicers there is a chance they won't be as objective as independent reviews written by people who use the product. Pay special attention to those reviews if they only sell one brand as this can skew them in its favor.
2) Does the website accept free products and incentives from juice extractor manufacturers? These are called kick-backs, and can make the reliability of the reviews questionable. If they accept compensation from a manufacturer, they are required to post an affiliates disclaimer page on the website. Check to see if this page is present, and if it is, if they disclose that they accept incentives.
3) How complete is the review? Check the manufacturer's website to familiarize yourself with their sales pitch before reading juicer reviews for a brand. You will be able to quickly spot if the reviewer has simply visited the sales page and rewritten the pitch for their review. This is a common practice, which unfortunately leads to less than detailed reviews and a lack of independent objectivity.
4) Do they say how they arrived at their review decision? A review can be written in 15 minutes if one just goes to the manufacturer's website. However doing an in-depth review is not an instant process. At a minimum it requires a days worth of research to find out what issues consumers are typically experiencing, calls to the manufacturer for additional specifications and details not presented online, questioning friends and associates who own the model about their experiences, and ideally a hands-on test of the juicer as well. Check to see if the reviews site states how they arrive at their reviewing decision.
5) Are all the juicer reviews positive? This is a trick that some product review sites do. You land on a page, read the review, and everything is great about the product. But wait, did you look at other pages? Chances are if they give every single product they review a top rating, the review isn't objective and they are mainly after affiliate income.
6) Are there independent consumer reviews on the site? One website owners objective reviews can be very enlightening, but allowing others to leave comments and reviews is important as well. The best websites allow independent reviews that feature both positive and negative features of a juicer.
7) If there are independent consumer reviews on the site, are there varied opinions present? It's human nature. Some folks will love something. Others will hate it. Read through several reviews to see that there are a variety of opinions and writing styles present. This will ensure you are on a juicer reviews website that doesn't censor their submissions to only positive statements about the machines.
Are the web publishers into juicing? Make sure that they have an about me page and take a quick look at it. Do they juice? Does their passion for healthy living shine through? Do they seem like the kind of person you'd see walking through the aisles of a health food store? (or working in one if you're like me). Look at the motives for why they have created the website in the first place. In other words make sure they walk the talk.
9) Are incentives offered for sharing a review? If they do accept reviews, check to see their terms of submission. Having a contest isn't a problem, that's just encouraging submissions. Just make sure there isn't anything in the terms of service that states an incentive in association with a requirement that the reviews must be positive only. I've seen this one before and it's not ideal. Well-rounded reviews are important!
Following these 9 tips will ensure you get the most out of reading the juicer reviews that are out there. There are many wonderful juicing websites written by juicer fans and health enthusiasts. Stick with reviews sites written by these juicing aficionados (who also allow other folks to share reviews) and you'll be keeping good company and certain to be getting real, honest, objective reviews.
