Today, buying a prefab horse barn can prove to be a better alternative to building your own barn for your horses. This is because these prefab horse barns are much cheaper and can be set up much faster than a traditional or ordinary horse barn.
The reason for this is that these barns are 90% completed and come as individual sections from the manufacturers. On receiving the sections, either you, or if you are not competent enough, you could hire construction workers, assemble the barn. With the help of experts, you will have your barn set up over the weekend.
The prefabricated horse barn should have non-slip flooring so that there is no possibility of your horses slipping and falling at any time. Placing stall mats made of rubber or sandy soil helps in preventing any slippage on the floor. Make sure the ceiling of the barn is sufficiently high so that your horse doesn't hit its head when raising itself.
Keep all lighting in metal cages
It is always better to have all the lightning and their bulbs of the barn placed in safety cages and to protect its wiring from rodents. In addition to this, the wiring should be moisture proof so that there is no possibility of any electric shocks. Place switches in places where they are not reachable by the horses.
Windows are necessary for ventilation purposes; however ensure that they are covered with grills or mesh so that there is no possibility of birds and other animals entering the barn and disturbing your horses.
When you feed and water your animals in the barn, it is always better to place the pails somewhere on the wall. Another alternative would be to use feeding tubs of the wall supported variety for storing water for your horses. And for satisfying the hunger of the horses, build up piles of hay that the horse will be able to feed on at leisure.
