5 Kinds Of Flower Bouquets Used For A Great Wedding Ceremony
Despite the fact that you may well all know what flowers are just as well as what a bouquet is, there's more in the types of bouquets than it appears.
Each business has its peculiar glossary and the floral world is no exception. Sure enough you may already be aware that bouquets of flowers can seem just all so unique. This is specifically the reason why you should learn to differentiate the major various types of flower bouquets.
Knowing how to distinguish the types of flower bouquets will significantly help you and your florist in the arrangement of your bridal bouquet or whatever function your floral bouquet may have.
The Posy Bouquet
Maybe the most general type of flower bouquet, the posy bouquet is a small round half-spherical bouquet. Usually the leafage is relatively scarce on it and emphasis is truly given on the flowers.
The Posy bouquet is customarily very light weight and simple to hold as in a good number of cases (even with fresh flowers) the stalks are cut off and replaced with floral wires in its place.
Common variations of the Posy bouquet would incorporate the Nosegay bouquet type which would give highlighting to heavy leafage, or the Biedermeier bouquet type which designs the half-spherical look of the posy bouquet in individual rings each one composed of a unique kind or color of flower.
The Pomander Bouquet
While the Posy bouquet is half spherical, the Pomander itself is a full sphere, and this is why it's also referred to as a flower ball or kissing ball.
More often than not, the Pomander bouquet is almost exclusively composed of flowers devoid of leafage; some variations are seen with a heavy one. For that reason the most important rule for a Pomander bouquet plainly seems to refer to its globular shape.
Due to this distinctive shape, this type of bouquet is held by means of a loop that is attached on the ball (the loop is frequently made of ribbon).
Pomander bouquets are predominantly used by wedding attendants such as junior bridesmaids or flower girls.
The Arm Sheaf Bouquet
Different to the Posy bouquet kind, the Arm Sheaf bouquet (also known as Presentation bouquet) is not hand-tied, but instead cradled in the bride (or whoever the carrier may possibly be). As such, an Arm Sheaf bouquet can set horizontal without being spoiled.
The Arm Sheaf bouquet is by nature reasonably long and not that wide, as it would make it inconvenient to carry. The preferred choice of flowers for this type of bouquet would favor any flower with long stem.
Beautifully composed Arm Sheaf bouquet can actually be a delight to see as they break the symmetry of a traditional bouquet on the carrier giving it all a very strong personality.
The Shower/Cascading Bouquet
Almost certainly the ultimate bridal bouquet type, the one everyone associates with wedding.
This kind of bouquet got its names (shower bouquet, cascading bouquet, teardrop bouquet, etc…) due to its distinctive form.
The Cascading bouquet if generally rounded on top and has a trail at the bottom customarily ending in a spiky shape.
While the shower bouquet can be in most cases single hand held, it is customarily best held with both hands, specially taking into account that the dimension of some of those bouquets can be huge. History has seen some cascading bouquets almost covering the bride!
The Accessorizing Bouquets
This is not a type of flower bouquet by itself, but more accurately encompasses a set of specialized flower bouquets that are designed around objects and accessories.
The most widespread of those flower bouquets are possibly the Fan bouquet, Muff bouquet, Prayerbook bouquet, and the Basket bouquet.
These bouquets are customarily clearly associated with a given faith or background.
