Collecting Vintage Movie Posters Is Not Just A Hobby For Some

What started as a childhood hobby for James Fredrick, turned into a million dollar collection when he got older. It all started when he went with his parents to go to yard sales and bought a couple of vintage movie posters for a few dollars.

Over the years James would buy more and more vintage movie posters with the extra cash he had; he even later set up a budget so he could expand his collection. Some of his family and friends thought that his obsession was crazy, until they heard that he was planning to auction off a few. After the auction he had made well over ten thousand dollars on just one duplicate he had in his collection.

This duplicate was not even one of the most valuable vintage movie posters he owned. After that, many people James knew would ask him about how he got started collecting vintage movie posters and how they could do it also. He has always said the same thing to anyone wanting to start any type of collection. “Just buy what you like and do not spend a lot of time thinking about how much something will be worth in the future.”

Many collectors will agree you cannot spend all your time thinking about what something might be worth in the future. Many collectors of vintage movie posters have had a long love affair with all things cinematic and just started buying posters for the art work. Over the years some of the posters that collectors buy end up going up in value and others just stay the same; either way, it ends up being a fun hobby that can turn into something more.

If you have ever wanted to start a collection yourself, but did not know where to start, you should simply start with buying a few movie posters for the movies you like and before you know it you will have a collection that could be worth millions.
