When I was a little girl in the 1950s, Disney had a few classic princesses that we all admired. And of course, watching the movies or reading stories about them instilled values in us that the good always wins out in the end.

Now, Disney has made many more movies with new princesses reigning. They are more modern in their actions, but still admirable in their character traits and beauty.

Luckily for girls today, there is also a line of princess dolls. We know that imaginary play in children is beneficial for many reasons. Girls can enjoy many hours of pretend and make-believe with these dolls.

Here are three of the Disney Sparkling Princess dolls that are available. These dolls have small parts and are not for children under three years of age. Each doll comes dressed in her signature gown, decorated with sparkling glitter and sequins. Also included are a jeweled tiara, necklace, and scepter for the doll. The scepter turns into a matching ring for the little girl who owns this doll.

1. Ariel

The mermaid known for her beautiful singing voice, Ariel rescues handsome Prince Eric and they fall in love. Ariel has a pink gown, big blue eyes, and lovely auburn hair.

2. Cinderella

Probably the most loved fairy tale princess ever, Cinderella's story has been retold in different cultures. We all sympathize with this lovely girl who is unjustly treated, but is rescued by her handsome prince and removed from her neglectful home.

Cinderella wears her signature blue gown, and her blonde hair is swept up on her head.

3. Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty is another one of the oldest classic fairy tale princesses. The evil sorceress Maleficent puts a curse on her that will cause her to die on her sixteenth birthday. But the three good fairies and Prince Phillip manage to change her fate.

Sleeping Beauty comes with a pink gown adorned with gold sequins. Her long blonde, wavy hair flows from under her crown.
