Falls Serenity

A teenage girl turns the pages,

artist's book lying before her,

seeing something

she had never seen before,

open-mouthed wide awe,

eyes brightened, silent pose,

reflection of masterful strokes

each new dawn;

lion yawns, cubs asleep,

the grassy lawn,

summer's dawn,

winters' colored, brilliant falls,

snowy white winters,

mountains taller than the sky;

bright as the sun- turning white

to gold-dipped light,

inspired patterns, blistering-hot day

warm moonlit nights;

stars painted dipped tip of white,

touch of the painter's light,

dot the Indian sky

before the strokes of her brush;

grass beneath,

so pure and lush, quiet hush;

each new night sun, soft moonlight,

year's work, tomorrows nights

lay stretched out in eternity;

turning magenta red,

from canvassed white,

dots of white, on bluish, icy sky,

rising in Indian children's lullabies,

without a noise;

her loving hand gently extends,

to touch and paint

a humble reflection

of her love on that day,

that she hopes can make a trace

a peaceful, beautiful, enchanted face

paintbrush dipped

a rounded dish, colored paints

visual colored mist, near Bombay,

as a guru swayed about

but no one listened,

they moved along the way,

they'd seen such wonders nearly-every day;

painter's brush found its way,

musical symphony of colors

carefully laid;

plans were made designs, ideas

between the temples,

the mind of the painter's head,

painting the canvas white to red;

mosaic tiles, multitude of painted miles,

her style, reflected in Indian smiles

of children and laughs,

of a mother's love, peace,

a million miles stretched out forever

like a God-sent Dove;

centuries of artists, dreamers,

minds active like a river mill,

searching for something,

something new

to give its due, to paint life anew,

Indian blue, magenta reds,

sunlit yellows, brilliant as the first morning;

no guns to be heard that day,

serenely calm,

painted flowers,

painted, hopeful sun;

she hopes her peace and serenity

-moments complete,

can make a watery,

golden ripple of painted, hopeful peace

that might slowly travel

through ocean's spans,

to grow like a wave,

an ascending dune

of forever sands, goodness,

flowing like the Ganges River

to cover the ocean's earthly world

with queenly hope,

and help to make all things

as they should.
