Relationship advice it seems is everywhere in today's society, but are you using the right advice? I really am not knocking down the counselors or any sort of relationship help you may have got, but want you to take a close look at practical ways to get your ex back. And in reality if he or she doesn't want to come back then you must move on with your life.

If you are in an abusive relationship then you might want to think to yourself, will they really change, and do I need to be hit or be mentally abused? Of course not and I do not advocate you even considering getting back together again. But, if you believe there is still hope and have the faith to pursue your ex then read on.

Step one. First and most important is self-evaluation. What I mean is to look in the mirror and ask yourself what I can do to be a better person. You must look at your own faults before you can criticize another person. Sometimes your own back yard can be at fault. Doing this will eventually make you a better person not only in a relationship but also in your life's journey.

Step two. Space, I can not emphasize this enough, give each other breathing room, a cooling off period which allows you to think about each other. If you do not give the other person space needed then you are going to make your ex push farther away and eventually remain away. You are probably wondering how much time this will take. Maybe you have heard a cliché about how being away from someone you love for a period of time makes the heart grow founder, will this is why we use this tactic. Depending on the relationship this could be only a few weeks or maybe as much as a few months.

Step three: I call this my call to action step because you have probably already have been pondering a plan in your head of what to do next. I suggest either contacting your ex by phone or by simply sending a nice thinking about you card. Very politely telling them that you would like to maybe have a cup of coffee together or maybe a light lunch together to see how they are doing. Your ex might even call you first and be thinking the same thing.

Step four. Now you want to take it slow, because as you are growing towards a better person your ex will see that in you. Wait a while after your meeting and call the other person to set up a date night that should be some place you use to go together that will bring back pleasant memories. As with any advice, if you do not follow the advice then you will not see results. But, follow the steps above and you can get your ex back in your arms again.
