You've probably encountered this sort of problem, if you've ever traveled by plane. Either your luggage totally disappears for days, weeks or permanent, or else you accidentally grab the wrong bag thinking it's yours and have to bring it back later. Why does that happen?

Well, there are two big issues that most travelers have. The first is that they get luggage that looks like everyone else's luggage. The second is that most travelers don't really totally understand what happens to luggage when it leaves their hands. Namely, it gets tossed around and beat up.

What that means is that, if you put your name and address on a tag, as the airline suggests, and tie it to the outside of your suitcase, it may not still be attached when it gets to the other end. That doesn't mean you shouldn't mark it. You should just take some other measures, too.

For example, you should put your and address on the outer tag, but you should also put it on a sheet of paper inside the main zipper of your suitcase, too. That will allow people to identify it as yours if they find it. It'll also allow you to quickly unzip the pocket and verify that the luggage is yours when you get it back.

Finally, make your luggage unique somehow. You could get a suitcase in an odd color, for example. You could also put stickers on the outside of it or tie some brightly colored yarn around the handle of it. Whatever you can think of to help you easily recognize your luggage will really help you when you travel.
