Everyone has their favorite cologne. Both men and women enjoy the benefits of good cologne and consider putting on cologne a part of getting dressed to go out. I know I do. As a woman, it does make me feel more feminine.
What is cologne?
Have you ever wondered what cologne really is and from where it originates? There is a place in Germany called, Cologne. This is where cologne originated.
Is it made up of cookies and spice and everything nice? Well, it is made of wonderful things that everyone knows about like lemon, orange, tangerine, lime, grapefruit, along with bergamot and neroli all in a foundation of dilute ethanol. Yes, there is more. Cologne can also have essential oils included like thyme oil, rosemary oil, orange leaf oil (petit-grain) which actually is making me hungry.
You might also find a couple of my most favorite flowers like lavender oil or jasmine oil. Now you're talking. Now that makes me want to run to the cabinet and apply some of my favorite cologne. But wait, just like everything else in life, there is a proper way to apply your cologne. Are you applying it correctly?
Wear it, love it, but please, apply it correctly!
*First of all, how the bottle is spraying makes a difference. If you have had it for a long time or just bought it and it has been sitting on a store shelf for a period of time, it may not be spraying correctly. Give it a couple test squirts. Better in the air than on you!
*Second, give your inside wrist (either one) just one short spray.
*Third, rub your wrists together. You have seen this done. This will spread the cologne evenly on both wrists. I always do this but didn't know why.
*Fourth, one short pump of the spray to your hands or fingers tips and then apply that behind your ears, your chest and on the side of your neck. You know, where there is a pulse. You want that neck kissable, right?
That's it. That wasn't so hard.
Some bottles don't have a spray top.
So my cologne bottle does not have a spray top. Now what? Bath time? No, no. Put your finger over the open bottle top and turn the cologne bottle upside down. A little dab will do you here. Now do like you did with the spray. Apply to the inside of your wrists, on the chest, behind the ears and the side of your neck. You know, all the pulse spots.
That's it. That is all you need. No spraying of clothing or swabbing places that may burn. Remember the old saying, less is more.
Here are a couple little things you should know.
*When you are applying your cologne, don't rub. Gentle pats are all you need. If you rub you will make the natural oils of your skin alter the cologne.
*Like we have already said, don't get your clothes in the way of your cologne. Although cologne does wonderful things for you, it may not be wonderful for your clothing and could ruin them. Not good!
How to buy cologne.
Just like when you apply your cologne at home, in the store spray a little on the inside of your wrist. Now, wait just a few seconds before you sniff. Let it breathe and get use to your body chemistry. Now smell it and if you like it, it's a good choice to purchase.
*Wearing cologne is a pleasure, not only for you but for those you spend time with or even pass by during the day. Remember again, that less is more. There is nothing appealing about being overcome by someone's cologne. You want people to swoon over you, not pass out. There you have it. The secrets of using cologne.
