Home owners usually put up frosted glass film to add privacy to a bathroom window or shower enclosure. Without prior experience with window tinting and with so many designs available, it is easy to choose the wrong type of glass film. This article is a short write-up on how to choose the suitable type of product.

Window film usually comes as either one of the following two types. It is either adhesive-based, that is, it require some additional glue to stick to glass surface or it can be adhesive-free. Adhesive-free window films do not require glue to stick and will adhere to glass surface through static action.

For home use, it is best to choose adhesive-free type of window film. This type of product is easy to install by yourself and you do not need to employ anyone to put it up for you. Therefore, you can save a bit of money.

When it comes to time for redecorating, it is also easy to remove too. To remove a self-adhesive window film, you just peel them off. As frosted glass film can also withstand both heat and moisture, it is suitable to be used on bathroom windows and shower enclosure.

In the past ten years, the window tinting industry had evolved drastically. There are now many designs to choose from and each month, more and more designs are being added. With so many designs, it is easy to be distracted and end up choosing the wrong type of glass film.

That is why it is important to keep in mind what you hope to accomplish with the tinting film. If you wish to turn the window totally opaque, then go for the fully frosted glass design. Fully frosted glass design may work well on bathroom windows, but usually the lite frost pattern works better on shower doors.

One nice feature about frosted tint film is that, even though it obscures view, light from the outside can still shines in during the daytime. You will be able to save on your electricity bill as you do not need to turn up more lights. A room that is well-lit from the outside also looks more cheerful.

To sum up, the most important criteria in choosing frosted glass film is whether it is adhesive-based or adhesive-free. Secondly, it is important to keep your objective clear and choose window film that meets your objective. Thirdly, go for those glass film that allows natural light to shine through.
