The Top 20 Searches for Antiques and Collectibles at Kovels.com for October 2007
Cleveland, Ohio - November 13, 2007 - Kovels.com
(http://www.kovels.com), the Web's largest free price guide for
antiques and collectibles, today released its list of the top 20
searches for October. The Kovels' top 20 list is based on the results
of hundreds of thousands of searches that took place on its website
during the month of October 2007.
People use price guides for a number of reasons, usually to determine
the value of an item that they own. If an item isn't listed on the top
20 list, it doesn't mean it is unpopular or that there isn't a demand
for it. It only means that in October there was less interest in
finding prices for that item.
1. Stoves (Up from #2) 2. Jewelry (Down from #1) 3. Furniture (Up from
#4) 4. World War II (Down from #3) 5. Silverplate (Up from #7) 6.
Occupied Japan (No movement) 7. Lighters (Up from #8) 8. Knife (Up from
#14) 9. Capo-Di-Monte (Up from #10) 10. Lladro (Up from #12) 11. Coca
Cola (Down from #5) 12. Clock (Up from #19) 13. Josef Originals (Not
listed last month) 14. Dolls (Up from #20) 15. Bottles (Not listed last
month) 16. Royal Dux (Up from #18) 17. Planters Peanuts (Not listed
last month) 18. Sheet Music (Not listed last month) 19. Flow Blue (Not
listed last month) 20. Elvis Presley (Not listed last month)
There are six new categories on the October list that were not included
in the September list. Also note the surge in stoves over the past few
months, as the weather has become colder.
The Kovels' "Top 20" list of antiques and collectibles has been
published monthly since 2002 and is offered by Kovels.com as a service
for collectors. Accredited media interested in discussing the content
of this release or any topics related to antiques and collectibles are
encouraged to contact the Kovels to schedule an interview.

The Collectors - $9.99 In this independent drama, Logan (Adam Abram) is a young man with a great talent in the martial arts -- a gift he inherited from his father. However, when Logan loses the use of his legs in a auto accident, he's left with little reason to go on, and his father doesn't shy away from expressing his disappointment, especially as his father has recently lost his job. Logan's grandfather is sympathetic to his situation, and with the young man in mind he designs a hyper-realistic video game which will allow Logan to virtually exercise the fighting skills his body no longer allows. But Logan spends too much time with the game, and eventually finds himself lost somewhere between cyberspace and reality. The Collectors was written and directed by John Lyde, who has also directed several independent films relating to issues within the Mormon faith. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |
