There are many metals and materials used for developing jewelry. Gemstones, coins and other precious items are very often used for creating jewellery items, and they are typically set into precious metals. Nearly alloy of every metal has been used for developing jewellery items. In Roman times, bronze was the most used alloy for creating jewellery. Now in modern times jewellery is made usually from the following metals, i.e. gold, silver, palladium, titanium, white gold etc. Mostly gold jewelry used in America and Europe is made of an alloy of gold, karats is the unit for its purity, presented as a number followed by K. The gold jewellery in UK must be of 9K (37.5% pure gold) and whereas in America it must be at least 10K purity (41.7% pure gold). As we go up the purity level they are less common with alloys at 22K (91.5% pure gold), and 24 karats gold is considered to be very delicate for making jewellery items in America and Europe it includes up to 99.99% pure gold. In countries of Asia, Africa and Middle East these high purity alloys are widely used. The Silver used in making jewelry items is mostly sterling silver ie. 92.5 % pure silver. Apart from these major materials which are used in jewelry others include wood, natural animal substances such as bone and ivory, glass, such as fused-glass or enamel, plastics, natural and polymer clay.
Beads are very frequently used in making jewellery. Jewellery made of beads commonly includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and belts. They may be made of metal, shells, gemstones, glass, wood, natural and polymer clay. Beads which are used can be large or small, the smallest type of beads used are known as seed beads, these are the beads used for the "woven" style of beaded jewellery.
Another metal which is in very much craze among the females in jewellery is Diamond. Diamonds were first mined in India. Diamond is very common in rings, necklaces, nose rings, earrings, bracelets etc.
There are often one more item which is used in jewelry, i.e. Gemstones. Includes precious as well as semiprecious stones used for jewelry. Rubies are the among the most highly valued precious stones and is known for its intense red color. Sapphire is the next precious stone, its most popular form is blue sapphire. The third stone among the 3 most precious stones includes Emerald, known for its fine green to bluish green color. The other gemstones includes amber, amethyst, jade, jasper, quartz, turquoise.

Precious $11.99 BONUS: This edition contains a Precious  discussion guide. The summer of 1978, ten-year-old Vicki Anderson rides her bike to the local park and goes missing. Her tight-knit blue-collar Pennsylvania neighborhood, where children roam the streets at night playing lightning tag, aboveground pools sparkle in backyards, and flowers scent the air, will never be the same. Down the street from Vicki’s house, another family is in crisis. Troubled by her past, headstrong Natalia Kisch has abandoned her husband and two daughters for another man. Frank Kisch, grappling with his anger, is left to raise their girls alone, oblivious to his daughters’ struggles with both disappearances: Eva, seventeen, plunges into an affair with her married high school teacher, and nine-year-old Sissy escapes to a world of imagination and storytelling that becomes so magical it pierces the reality of the everyday. When Natalia unexpectedly returns, the struggles and tensions that have built over the summer erupt into a series of events that change the Kisches irrevocably—forcing them to piece together their complicated pasts and commitments to each other. In this haunting, atmospheric debut, Sandra Novack examines loss, loyalty, and a family in crisis. Lyrical and elegiac, Precious illuminates our attempts to make sense of the volatility that surrounds and consumes us, and explores our ability, even during the most trying times, to remember and hold on to those we love most. |

Precious Objects $10.99 In the middle of New York City lies a neighborhood where all secrets are valuable, all assets are liquid, and all deals are sealed with a blessing rather than a contract. Welcome to the diamond district. Ninety percent of all diamonds that enter America pass through these few blocks, but the inner workings of this mysterious world are known only to the people who inhabit it. In Precious Objects, twenty-six-year-old journalist Alicia Oltuski, the daughter and granddaughter of diamond dealers, seamlessly blends family narrative with literary reportage to reveal the fascinating secrets of the diamond industry and its madcap characters: an Elvis-impersonating dealer, a duo of diamond-detective brothers, and her own eccentric father. With insight and drama, Oltuski limns her family’s diamond-paved move from communist Siberia to a displaced persons camp in post–World War II Germany to New York’s diamond district, exploring the connections among Jews and the industry, the gem and its lore, and the exotic citizens of this secluded world. Entertaining and illuminating, Precious Objects offers an insider’s look at the history, business, and society behind one of the world’s most coveted natural resources, providing an unforgettable backstage pass to an extraordinary and timeless show. |

Precious Doe $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Precious Doe was a pseudonym assigned to an unidentified female corpse (presumed to be 3 to 4 years of age) discovered on April 28, 2001, in Kansas City, Missouri. The girl had been murdered and decapitated. The body was naked and the head was wrapped in a trash bag and dumped nearby. The brutality of the crime, and the fact that the child went unidentified for a long period, sparked national interest. In an effort to identify the girl, police released sketches, computerized likenesses, and at least two busts depicting the victim. The case was featured on the TV program Americas Most Wanted several times. On May 5, 2005, the body was identified as Erica Michelle Marie Green, age three, and her mother and stepfather were charged with her murder and extradited from Oklahoma to face charges in Missouri. The eight other children of Ericas mother were taken into state custody or placed with relatives. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F.
