A wallet bag is an interesting way to carry around your important everyday belongings. It easily transforms from a wallet into a bag, or vice versa. This makes it easy to slip it into your purse if you would like, or to simply throw it over your shoulder as the purse itself. But how exactly does a wallet transform into a bag?

The truth is, there is no real "transformation" to it, though a wallet bag is capable of being one or the other. Most are just large enough to carry whatever you need and have detachable straps, which allow you to carry it as either or. Some of the more expensive and elaborate styles allow you to remove whole sections of the wallet via snaps, as to make it smaller when you are not using it as a bag. These styles are available, though the ones that simply allow you to remove the straps are much more common.

The concept of a wallet bag is nothing new. They have been around for some time, though under a few different names -- though their current one is far more descriptive. Many of the styles that you will find are just large enough to classify as a purse or a bag, though only have enough room to carry cash, credit cards, identification, receipts, and any other small items you may carry. They are be no means purse replacements for women who love to carry books or other large items around with them, but they do have their place.

Smaller brand names as well as designer brands do make these "wallets", though they are more difficult to come across than other varieties. Some department stores will have them, especially those that specialize in clothing. Otherwise you may have to go to purse and handbag specialty retailers (if there are any in the area) or look online to see what options are available. Seeing images of what different styles look like will be a big help to you finally making a decision.

Should you choose to use one of these mostly as a wallet instead of a bag, then know that when these bags are in "wallet form" they tend to be too large to fit in small-sized purses. Many fit in medium-sized ones, while most will fit well in a large purse. They are often far too large to fit into small ones, so if that is your preference you may choose to use one as an efficient and organized handbag, not as a wallet.

The wallet bag has been around for a while, but it has not been on the forefront of style in quite some time. While they are not the most fashionable wallets or purses you can choose, they are an easy way to choose your look on the fly and to keep your things organized.
