Silver American Eagle Sales Soar to record

On March 4, 2010, 4.8 million U.S. Silver Eagle coins had been sold by the Mint of the United States since the beginning of the year. The volume of units sold is the largest combined turnover of coins in the history of the Mint.

Thus, parts were produced that one hundred percent of the total money that has been exploited in the United States during the previous two months were been exhausted. A History of American Silver Eagles sales suspended

In March 2008, sales of silver eagles has risen from 200,000 in February to 1,855,000. Following this increase of more than nine times, the U.S. Mint began rationing silver bullion coins authorized Eagle dealers in April 2008.

Two months later, in June 2008, the Mint announced that all the blanks in the incoming money would be used for investment coins rather than a combination of mint bullion, proof and uncirculated coins. Accordingly, the 2008 Proof Silver Eagle was not available from the Mint in August this year. Perhaps this is why 2008 Proof Silver Eagles are now on sale for a premium of 25% to 40% or more of the 2007 Proof Silver Eagles.

Then on the fifth of March 2009, the Mint announced that two uncirculated and proof versions of the Silver Eagles would be suspended, at least temporarily, due to strong demand for bullion coins.

Finally, the allocation program was launched in March 2008 was lifted in mid-June 2009. While some people believed that production of proof and uncirculated coins would also take back what was not supposed to be. The Mint announced October 6, 2009, that collectible versions of Silver Eagle coins would be minted in 2009.

Subsequently the sale of bullion coins in 2009 was again suspended between November 24 and December 6. Although the allocation program was again introduced December 7, 2009, bullion coins remaining sales were completed by January 12, 2010.

The 2010 Silver Eagle bullion coins began to be filed one month behind the usual schedule in January 2010. At this time we do not know if uncirculated or proof versions of these coins will be produced this year.

It probably why many people who have thought about buying silver are the strengthening of the plate and buy it now, when they feel the reasonable price is still low.
