The kind you buy come in three different flavors: franchises, where one business grants you the right to distribute its products or services; direct selling, where you sell directly to the consumer; and business opportunities, where someone offers you a business idea that you can run on your own where you are paid directly. For a lot of people, this is the best way to go as everything is ready to run and in place from day one. Of course, you will pay for the help this expense can be easily covered by your profits if you do things right. You mainly need to make sure that you are suited to the rules of the game in your new business, that there is a ready market for the product or service and the company you choose is well known and has a good track record.

Direct Selling: Amway/Quixtar, Mary Kay, Longaberger.
Business Opportunities: Rhino Linings, Home Video Studio, Balloon Wrap.
When you decide which type of business you want to start, you will have to decide how best to sell your product or service to people and this is called marketing. Today, this crucial part of your new business can be done in several ways that include advertising and the Internet. You can use one or both of these - you are the boss.
