Small Business Robberies - The Best Way to Stop Them

<p>Recently here in Colorado Springs, my hometown that I like dearly, there's been a virus of retail store, little business robberies. One night recently there were 3 convenience stores robbed at gunpoint. Most of the robberies committed are not armed robberies.</p>
<p>Running a retail business, a little business is difficult enough. You've got employees trying to steal from you and customers trying to steal from you. There are ways in which to accommodate that. However theft is something that you dread and pray never happens to you.</p>
<p>The commonly accepted advice from police departments in an armed robbery is to not offer any resistance and just do what they ask. The thought being that your life isn't price $twenty within the money drawer and I agree.</p>
<p>But if you own a tiny business, a retail business, you realize that you are in danger for a robbery particularly if you are located near a busy intersection, where it is easy for the dangerous guys to induce away your risk might be higher. So what are you supposed to try and do? There comes a point where you almost draw a line within the sand and say &quot;no a lot of&quot;.</p>
<p>If you feel threatened by an assailant who is armed I'd persist with that advice and just do what they demand and hand over any money they raise for. If on the opposite hand the assailant is unarmed there's one thing that you'll do to protect yourself, your money and your store.</p>
