My son and son in law have both spent time in Afghanistan and the Christmases when they returned were very precious for us all. They started our new family tradition when they bought their wives these splendid crystal Christmas ornaments for that year, as part of the celebration. We have continued the tradition, by adding to the family collection every year since. It has now become an essential part of our family Christmas.
Swarovski, from Austria, has developed the art of crystal making over many years. Each of the crystal ornaments they produce comes complete in a beautiful presentation box, with a white satin ribbon to hang it on the tree. There is also a silver tone metal tag on which the year of issue is engraved.
I started my own personal collection in 2007 and now I wish I had done so earlier,when I see how these beautiful objects bring joy to those who see them. The quality is astounding and the silver tag showing the year adds to their special quality.
They make wonderful gifts for baby's first Christmas, when it is so hard to find the perfect present for a small child. Give a grandchild a crystal snowflake and they will have something to remind them of you every Christmas.
They also make great gifts for people you must buy something for, but you do not know too well, a secretary or personal assistant in the office for example. The ornament is not too personal, but is certainly special. Older relatives will appreciate the quality and younger ones will love a special addition like this to their Christmas trees.
