There is possibly no more fun task than planning a birthday party for a girl. Most girls are creative, imaginative, and like to have fun, so planning a theme birthday party can be really easy. The key to a successful girl-themed birthday party is to really know what the girl in your life likes, and likes to do! Then you can center her next birthday on what makes her the happiest! If you are still in the planning stage, here are some great ideas for themed birthday parties, for girls-

Alice in Wonderland tea party- Most little girls love tea parties! With this party plan you can really take the tea birthday party-over the top! Best of all this party works well, for a wide range of ages, just increase the sophistication of the food, and games as the age of the girls go up!

For the invitations-

You will need-

A deck of cards-preferably oversized (check out your dollar store)

White cardstock

Markers or

Computer and printer

glue

Instructions for the project-Simply write or print out the party information on the white cardstock. Glue the information on one side of the playing cards. Make sure you note that your guests shouldn't be "late for this very important date!" If you can do it, consider holding the party outside just as they do for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Invite the girls to come dressed in their best tea party clothes!

For the decorations-

Find some fun tea cups and saucers to have on your table, remember the more mismatched the better! You can also find some unusual tea pots at different dollar stores to have at each table (and rather than tea, fill each one with a surprise punch or candies). You can use more of the oversized playing cards as place cards for the guests: have a heart, club, spade and diamond table. You will want to make sure you have lots of big flowers, and bright colors.

For the food-

Remember that finger sandwiches are a must at any tea party, such as peanut butter and jam, or cucumber and cream cheese. You should also create sugar cookies with the words "Eat Me" on them. In lieu of a birthday cake, make different sized cupcakes: normal and miniature.

For the party bags-

Consider having fun white gloves, stickers of Alice and the other characters from Wonderland, fancy bead necklaces or cupcake lip gloss. The girls will simply love it!

Cheerleading party- For most girls being a cheerleader is secret dream. This party will let girls of all ages; have the fun of cheerleading, if only for an afternoon. This party works best for girls under the age of 12.

For the invitations-

You will need-

Cardstock

Scissors

Gel pens

Confetti

Envelopes

Instructions for the project-Cut the cardstock in a shape of megaphone. On one side using your gel pen, write:

"Give me a P"

"Give me an A"

"Give me an R"

"Give me a T"

"Give me a Y"

"What's that spell?"

Then on the inside write,

PARTY and it's for _____!

Show your birthday spirit and join us... (then include party details). Place a small amount of tissue confetti in the envelope before sealing. Be sure to remind guests to dress comfortably and wear sneakers.

As the party starts-

As the guests arrive, help them put their hair in pony tails, add ribbons or special hair scunchies. You should keep hygiene in mind by buying inexpensive hairbrushes for each guest from the dollar store. Provide a light make- over, or face glitter (age appropriate) and the girls are ready to go!

Have a special guests or two-

The girls would love a visit from a high school cheerleader or two. If you can persuade a couple of girls to come in their uniforms, and teach a cheer or two, it will make for some memorable moments. Be sure to keep your camera handy!

For party favors-

You will want to give a shout and say thank you for coming with a fun-filled party favor! Simply fill mini-megaphones with lip gloss, whistle, gel pen, pack of gum, and other cheerleader themed items.
