Ghosts and Ghouls or Virgin Mary Apparition?

For hundreds of years, the entire Christian world spoke of saints' apparitions, especially the Virgin Mary. The most amazing part of seeing ghosts is that these apparitions have no explanation. At midnight on the 2nd of April 1968, two workers were walking on a suburban street in Zeitoun, Cairo. One of them was looking across to the church of Saint Mary and noticed a "strange figure, in white clothing, standing on the roof of the church. I thought she was going to kill herself and I shouted at her to pay attention. My friend called the police and I woke up the gatekeeper. He came out and started screaming <<It's the Virgin Mary>> and went inside to call the priest." By the time the police got there, lots of people were already gathered to see the strange figure. The chief of local police said that what they were witnessing was nothing more than reflection of street light and ordered that they be all turned off.

 

Even so, that reflection was still standing and the vision of Virgin Mary become even clearer. The chief of policed got scared and said he wanted nothing else to do with this event while others got close to have a clear view. In the next 3 years, that apparition started coming out in unpredictable moments. Around that silhouette, it would sometimes appear that "light doves" were flying and they would first appear as a blue light which later took human form.  This figure would often float around the dome, appearing as if it was blessing people down below.  For hundreds of years, we have been witnessing people having such visions and those apparitions were usually identified as being the Virgin Mary. Such ghosts were usually seen by one or two people, but what made the Zeitoun phenomenon be so special is that it was seen by thousands of people.

 

The most popular vision has to be the one that Bernadette Soubirous witnessed on the morning of February 11th 1858. She was a 14 year old girl back then, coming from a simple family. Two of her friends, as well as herself were gathering plants near the Gave de Pau River, located close to Lourdes, France. At the base of a hill, called Massabielle by the locals, there was a small cave. Bernadette later wrote "I heard a sound… I saw the trees were not moving. I looked at the cave. I saw a woman… she was wearing a white dress with a blue belt and a yellow rose on each leg. When I saw her, I could not believe my eyes, the apparition started praying".
