I attended a Power Networking MeetUp Group yesterday with Asheville Business Connections, hosted by Wayne Porter and held at Chef Mo's Restaurant. It was great reconnecting, as well as meeting new people to build each other's business through professional networking.
There is a fun, yet structured format so all can respectfully network with each other during and after the meeting.
Their focus? Power Networking. I have attended these meetings several times, and building business friendships is so rewarding.
Besides sharing business cards and information FAST, we flow leads to each other. To help build business, we leverage a team effort. The value of our time with efficient networking strategies is increased.
Each person is given a one minute "elevator speech." Go over your time limit, and you get a tooted whistle to stop! All business cards are passed around to each member. There is a lot of laughter and sharing, and a growing bond in ABC's business Meetup group.
We also have a moment of grateful sharing and edification, as well as a drawing to assist in one member's business problem; the group collectively brainstorms their advice to assist the chosen member in a difficulty.
Problems could range from effective marketing, internet social media strategies, business related problems, or in yesterday's instance, assisting a member in choosing a title for his book.
Afterward, our host Wayne Porter of Two Cups Connect, teams up everyone with another member. The purpose is to network, build a relationship, and find out how we can assist each other's business or provide support.
