Yiannis Tridimas $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Yiannis Tridimas (born Andros, Greece on 22 February 1945) is a renowned longdistance fell runner, noted as being the first and only 60 year old to have completed an extended version of the Bob Graham Round, covering 60 peaks in under 24 hours. He completed the course on his third attempt, during the weekend of 6/7 August 2005, after his first attempt was curtailed by injury and the second by extreme hot weather. Yiannis is among a group of a few who have completed all three major 24 hour rounds in England, Scotland and Wales (Bob Graham, Ramsay and Paddy Buckley round). In addition, he completed his own 24 hour round, the Meirionnydd round in Wales, which he rates as one of his hardest challenges yet. He completed the Cuillin round in the Isle of Skye, which he rates as one of the most scenic and most challenging; not ideal for those not fond of rock climbing, as it includes both the Black and the Red Cuillin. In 1931, Ritsos joined the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). He maintained a workingclass circle of friends and published Tractor in 1934, inspired of the futurism of Vladimir Mayakovsky. In 1935, he published Pyramids; these two works sought to achieve a fragile balance between faith in the future, founded on the Communist ideal, and personal despair. The landmark poem Epitaphios, published in 1936, broke with the shape of Greek traditional popular poetry and expressed in clear and simple language a message of the unity of all people.
